Paul Hockings, Senior Scientific Advisor at Antaros Medical, will be presenting on behalf of all collaborators the latest data from the REMODEL trial at the European Renal Association (ERA) Congress 2026.
The REMODEL trial was designed to explore the mechanisms behin the kidney-specific effects of GLP-1 receptor agonism in those with type 2 diabetes (T2D) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) that were first observed in the FLOW trial. With a multimodal trial design that combines advanced functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with paired kidney biopsies, single-nucleus RNA sequencing (snRNAseq), spatial transcriptomics and biomarker analysis, REMODEL links mechanistic findings to clinical outcomes.
Imaging formed an essential part of this trial, with multiple techniques being used to assess key physiological parameters in the kidney, including oxygenation, perfusion, renal blood flow and inflammation. You can read more about the imaging in REMODEL here.
The latest data from the REMODEL trial will be presented as a focused oral in the Chronic Kidney Disease session on June 5.
