At Antaros Medical, we are pioneering imaging methodologies, such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET), to design and deliver clinical studies for decision making and differentiation in drug development.

As a part of our journey, we are now looking for a Director, Business Development – an exciting and diverse role at Antaros Medical. The position could be based in our offices in Gothenburg, Uppsala or Lund, or remotely within Sweden.

As a Director, Business Development at Antaros Medical, you will be responsible for managing and growing assigned key client accounts while also driving new business opportunities across our strategic areas of interest. This dual-focus role blends strategic account management with proactive business development, ensuring client satisfaction, revenue growth, and long term partnerships. You will build sustainable relationships with senior decision-makers, leverage your expertise in pharmaceuticals, CROs, relevant therapeutic areas, and clinical imaging science and operations, and work closely with internal subject matter experts to craft tailored solutions. Through strategic planning, consultative selling, and a deep understanding of each client’s business, you will identify, develop, negotiate, and close profitable opportunities that advance both our clients’ objectives and Antaros Medical’s growth ambitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Management
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts, building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within the accounts, including in procurement, sourcing, clinical and imaging teams.
    • Develop and execute account plans to retain and grow business within existing accounts.
    • Proactively identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within assigned accounts.
    • Ensure client needs are met by coordinating with internal teams, including project delivery, imaging operations, and scientific experts.
    • Maintain detailed account records in the Sales CRM, including meeting notes, opportunities, and pipeline status.
  • Business Development
    • Identify, target, and engage prospective new clients in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and CRO sectors.
    • Develop tailored proposals and presentations with the support of SMEs, Marketing and Sales Operations.
    • Lead on presentations and interactions with prospective clients, ensuring an
    • appropriate team of Antaros SMEs are included and prepared.
    • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through contract execution for new clients.
    • Participate in industry conferences, networking events and face-to-face company meetings to promote company capabilities. Expectation for travel is up to 75% in some periods of the year.
  • Collaboration & Internal Alignment
    • Collaborate with scientific and operational teams to ensure feasibility and operational alignment in proposals.
    • Work closely with colleagues in Business Development, Sales Operations, Finance and other internal teams as required to ensure accurate forecasting, reporting, and pipeline management.
    • Work closely with Sales Operations and Legal to execute contracts and to ensure other legal framework is in place before handing over projects to Imaging Services.
    • Partner with Marketing to develop campaigns and materials that support business development goals.
  • Performance & KPIs
    • Meet or exceed annual sales and revenue growth targets.
    • Achieve account retention and satisfaction metrics.
    • Generate a defined number of qualified leads and requests for proposals (RFPs) per quarter.
    • Maintain accurate and timely Sales CRM data entry and reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, or related field; advanced degree (PhD) in a discipline relevant to Antaros Medical’s capabilities is a plus.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, CRO, or clinical imaging industries.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial processes, particularly imaging in clinical development.
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels, including senior decision-makers.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Experience working with complex procurement and governance processes in large pharma and CROs.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, contracting, and operational delivery for imaging trials.
  • Existing network of contacts within the target industry sectors.
