Insights from deep-learning kidney image analysis presented at the 58th ERA-EDTA Congress

The European Renal Association – European Dialysis and Transplant Association (ERA-EDTA) annual congress takes place on the 5-8th of June. This is a great opportunity for scientists to come together to discuss and learn about new advances in the kidney field.

At this year’s ERA-EDTA congress, Uppsala University and Antaros Medical are presenting data from deep-learning image analysis of MRI scans from around 40,000 UK Biobank participants. The project investigated the association between kidney parenchymal volume (KPV) and age in UK Biobank participants with and without diabetes (type 1 and type 2) as well as following different treatments in subjects with type 2 diabetes.
