Antaros Medical is presenting more exciting data on non-invasive MRI biomarkers for CKD at ASN Kidney Week 2019

The Kidney Week 2019 is about to start. About 13000 delegates from all over the world is gathering in Washington for the annual American Society of Nephrology (ASN) meeting during 5-10 November.

Antaros Medical is, in collaboration with Sahlgrenska University Hospital and AstraZeneca, proudly presenting more exiting data strengthening Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) as a a non-invasive drug development tool for chronic kidney disease (CKD). MRI has great potential to non-invasively assess functional and morphologic, including fibrotic, changes in the kidney that may improve diagnosis, prognosis and treatment monitoring in patients with CKD. Ongoing longitudinal follow-up will assess whether these findings can identify patients at risk for rapid progression of CKD.

New data is showing that specific MRI based markers independently relates to Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) while others relates to Urine Albumin Creatinine Ratio (UACR),  further supporting MRI as a novel biomarker of kidney damage including improved understanding of within-person variations and the complex nature of Diabetic Kidney Disease (DKD).

In addition, in another presentation we have assessed novel MRI techniques that measure MRI based Filtration Fraction and the hemodynamic’s and flow profiles. All of these differs substantially between healthy volunteers and subjects with various degrees of Diabetic Kidney Disease
